Youth Advocate
Domestic Abuse Shelter, Monroe County, FL
The Domestic Abuse Shelter has an immediate opening for Youth Advocate. The responsibilities of the position include completing assessments and maintaining a service plan for each child receiving program services in both the Middle and Lower Keys locations. The youth advocate also facilitates groups for children and parenting classes for women as requested.
A bachelor's degree in human services work related field or non-degreed candidate with experience or background with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Candidate must be willing to work varied schedule based on needs of the shelter operation. Candidate should have capacity to handle high stress work environment dealing with women and children in crisis and embrace the empowerment-based philosophy as best practices in meeting needs of battered women and their children.
