The Hotline Regional Training is designed to enhance both seasoned and new advocates' skills in identifying and assessing the needs of survivors on the hotline. This training will use the Hotline Skills Wheel to review rapport, Active Listening, safety planning, risk assessment and the immediate needs of survivors. Advocates will be able to identify the services available at the Certified DV Centers and develop the tools needed to respond to requests for information on community resources.
This collaborative learning environment utilizes interactive group activities and classroom style training. To attend this training you must be an active staff or volunteer of a certified domestic violence center. Both new and seasoned advocates are encouraged to attend.
Training will occur from 9am-4:30pm, lunch will be on your own. Advocates should come prepared to engage with one another about their experiences on the hotline.
