Estimates suggest intimate partner homicide affects between 2,000 and 3,000 US children a year. This one day free training will present the impact of domestic violence on children, indicators for homicide, understanding the experiences and needs of children and adult survivors of intimate partner homicide, systemic realities and practical considerations for professionals supporting traumatically bereaved children. A trauma-informed community collaborative approach to meeting the needs of children who lose a parent to intimate partner homicide and their caregivers will be explored.
