The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence will host a free, one-day Child Welfare Regional Training Institute in Tampa, Florida for local child welfare professionals, domestic violence advocates, and community partners. The purpose of the training is to enhance collaboration between Certified Domestic Violence Centers and child welfare agencies, to build the capacity of child welfare and partnering agencies around the dynamics of domestic violence and the co-occurrence of domestic violence and substance use, and to discuss best practices when working with families experiencing both domestic violence and child maltreatment. This training is open to all child welfare professionals, domestic violence advocates, and community partners, and it is mandatory for CPI Project Advocates. The training begins at 9am, and registration begins at 8am.
