This webinar will include innovative practices for law enforcement officers and prosecutors to gather critical information used in evidence-based prosecution and explore ways to alleviate the unique challenges facing prosecutors in domestic violence cases. Participants will gain an understanding of the process of prosecution from the arrest through post-conviction.

Speaker Bio: Crystal Allen is the current Osceola Bureau Chief for the State Attorney in Circuit 9. Ms. Allen is a graduate of the Florida State University College of Law, 2005. She was previously with the State Attorney’s Office from March 2006 through April 2015 as a Domestic Violence Specialist. She has worked with victims in preparation for trial testimony, depositions and hearings. Ms. Allen has trained new attorneys in the domestic violence unit on victim contact, trial preparation, case law and charging. Ms. Allen is a member of the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association. She has provided training to the University of Central Florida, Legal Studies Department and Regional Law Enforcement trainings for the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
