One day event hosted by the FCADV Rural Caucus to include; four hours of training on the issue of Human Trafficking in rural communities and two hours of networking between rural domestic violence advocates and allied professionals. FBI Victim Specialist Michelle Thorne will facilitate the training, Human Trafficking: It Can Happen in Rural Communities, and will discuss the different types of human trafficking found in Florida, current trends and statistics, barriers experienced by trafficking survivors and will outline current collaborative efforts and services available to survivors of human trafficking in rural communities. The FCADV Rural Caucus is a statewide coalition of advocates and allied partners who have an interest in helping survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. The mission of the Caucus is to address the barriers which are unique to survivors living in rural communities through education and advocacy. We believe our commitment to overcoming these barriers is a crucial step in ending violence against those living in rural communities and everywhere.
The Rural Caucus brings advocates and their community partners together to network, share ideas and to discuss innovative approaches and materials.
