Nearly 70% of this country’s wealth is controlled by seniors or persons over the age of 60. For this reason, our Later in Life population is vulnerable to constant and on-going financial scams. When you add technology in to the mix, these scams are becoming easier to do, and its making the perpetrators harder to catch. In this interactive workshop, Steven Bradley will explore the risks and benefits of technology for not only the later in life, but for the attendees as well.
This event is a repeat of the 9 am event, so if you have already attended the 9 am event then you do not need to attend this one.
Participants will be able to:
- Identify common ways the Later in Life are targeted through technology;
- Have a working knowledge of how to identify signs of possible financial abuse
- List three ways perpetrators can gather information on the Later in Life;
- Will understand what RFID pick pocketing is and how to prevent it
